The Multifaceted Impact of GLP-1 Receptor Agonists
GLP-1 receptor agonists have received significant public attention in recent years, particularly for weight loss. However, these medications have been used for more than twenty years for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and have been studied extensively. Over the past decade, certain GLP-1 medications have also received FDA approval for weight loss, cardiovascular disease and sleep apnea. There are currently active studies for the GLP-1s preventing Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's, Fatty Liver Disease, Substance Abuse, PCOS and inflammation. This presentation will provide an overview of how GLP-1 medications work, current approved uses, emerging research, and their potential impact on long-term health and quality of life.

Looking for a new hire in the Rotary Foundation Committee!
The eradication of polio is a major goal of Rotary. Nationwide efforts to achieve this are going on around the world at this very moment. We are looking for someone - a new club member or someone longer in the tooth - who would like to come up to speed on all things polio - Rotary's Polio Plus program, the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, the Bill Gates Foundation, etc.- and so keep our club briefed and actively involved in the local, district-wide and international efforts to eradicate this disease. Contact the committee chair Roger Barnes (rotaryrogerbdc@gmail.com) if you are interested.

Environmental Action of the Week!
Tip #16
Say no to Junk Mail!
Opt out of what you don't read.
If 50 households did this, it would save hundreds of pounds of paper each year.
